Income Tax Disclosure [Abstract]
Income Tax Disclosure [Text Block] INCOME TAXES
The effective tax rate decreased for the fiscal three months ended September 30, 2026, compared to the fiscal three months ended September 30, 2025, with an effective tax rate of 23.8% of income before income taxes, compared to 24.3% in the prior fiscal year quarter. The decrease in the Company's effective tax rate was primarily attributable to purchased tax credit benefits recognized during the current period that were not present in the prior-year quarter, as well as differences in the tax effects of stock-based compensation between the two periods.
The Company paid income taxes, including purchased tax credits and net of refunds, of $2,906 and $16,316 in the fiscal three months ended September 30, 2026, and 2025, respectively.
At September 30, 2026, the Company had $24,708 of gross unrecognized tax benefits before interest and penalties, $22,168 of which, if recognized, would affect our effective tax rate. The Company had accrued interest and penalties of $5,707 related to uncertain tax positions at September 30, 2026.
The U.S. federal and state income tax returns for fiscal 2023 and all subsequent years remain subject to examination as of September 30, 2026, under statute of limitations rules. In addition, certain U.S. state income tax returns remain subject to examination as of September 30, 2026, under the statute of limitations rules for fiscal 2016 through 2022. The Internal Revenue Service ("IRS") is currently conducting an examination of the Company's U.S. federal income tax return for fiscal years 2023 through 2025. The IRS examination was initiated during the first quarter of the prior fiscal year and as of September 30, 2026, this examination is still ongoing. The Company does not expect any material findings as a result of this examination.
