Recent Developments
Bermuda-based Reinsurance Sidecar
On June 17, 2026, the Company announced that it has partnered with Stone Point Insurance Solutions (“Stone Point”) to sponsor the launch of Annapurna Re, Ltd. (“Annapurna Re”), a Bermuda-based collateralized insurer and special purpose vehicle (commonly referred to as a reinsurance "sidecar") structured as a segregated accounts company. Funds managed by Stone Point will serve as the inaugural, anchor investors in this multi-year vehicle. This structure legally isolates the assets and liabilities funded by third-party investors from the Company's general accounts.

Divestitures of Commercial Retail Insurance Operations
On August 5, 2026, the Company entered into a definitive agreement to sell its Mexican Commercial Retail Insurance Operations, Compañía de Seguros Generales Everest Mexico, S.A. de C.V. (“Everest Mexico”), to Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited (“Fairfax”), a global property and casualty insurance and reinsurance company. The transaction is anticipated to close in 2027.
On May 19, 2026, the Company entered into a definitive agreement to sell its Colombian Commercial Retail Insurance Operations, Everest Compañía de Seguros Generales Colombia S.A. Changes in Reportable Segment Presentation
During the third quarter of 2026, the Company refined its definition of underwriting results to exclude ceded prior year favorable (unfavorable) reserve development on reserves subject to the ADC and the related amortization of the deferred gain. The Company believes this change improves period-over-period comparability, removes the timing differences created by the retroactive reinsurance accounting model from the underwriting income (loss) measure, and better aligns with the manner in which our chief operating decision maker reviews the business to assess performance and allocate resources.
In addition, the Company introduced a new performance measure for its Legacy segment to better align the reported measures with how management evaluates this business. For the Legacy reportable segment, underwriting results are not the sole meaningful measure of segment performance due to the run-off nature of the business and its focus on managing and settling existing liabilities. Accordingly, during the third quarter of 2026, the Company introduced net reserve for losses and LAE before the impact of ADC as the Legacy segment new performance measure.
Effective January 1, 2026, the Company changed its reportable segments, previously reported as Reinsurance and Insurance, to Reinsurance Treaty, Global Wholesale & Specialty, and Legacy, following the sale of the renewal rights for its Global Commercial Retail Insurance business in the majority of our geographic regions to AIG. This new segment presentation reflects the Company's sharpened focus on its global Reinsurance Treaty business as well as its Global Wholesale & Specialty business. The Company revised the presentation of its reportable segments retrospectively to appropriately align with how the business segments are now managed.

Adverse Development Cover Reinsurance Agreements
Effective October 1, 2025, the Company’s subsidiaries entered into two adverse development reinsurance agreements, both of which are accounted for as retroactive reinsurance. The agreements reinsure potential adverse loss development for accident years 2024 and prior arising out of the ceding companies’ North American liabilities in the Global Wholesale & Specialty and Legacy segment, subject to exclusions for certain liabilities, including among others those related to the A&E reserves included in the Legacy segment.
