| SUMMARY OF SIGNIFICANT ACCOUNTING POLICIES | |
| Basis of Presentation | Basis of Presentation The accompanying unaudited Condensed Consolidated Financial Statements include the accounts of Valmont Industries, Inc. and its controlled subsidiaries (collectively, “Valmont” or the “Company”). Investments in affiliates and joint ventures over which the Company exercises significant influence but does not control are accounted for using the equity method of accounting. All intercompany accounts and transactions have been eliminated in consolidation. The unaudited Condensed Consolidated Financial Statements have been prepared in accordance with United States generally accepted accounting principles (“U.S. GAAP”) for interim financial information. Accordingly, they do not include all of the information and footnote disclosures required by U.S. GAAP for complete annual financial statements. In the opinion of management, the unaudited Condensed Consolidated Financial Statements reflect all adjustments, consisting of normal recurring adjustments, considered necessary for a fair presentation of the Company’s financial position, results of operations, and cash flows for the interim periods presented. The results of operations for any interim period are not necessarily indicative of the results to be expected for the full fiscal year or for any other period. These Condensed Consolidated Financial Statements should be read in conjunction with the Consolidated Financial Statements and accompanying notes included in the Company’s Annual Report on Form 10-K for the fiscal year ended December 27, 2025. There have been no material changes to the Company’s significant accounting policies from those disclosed in Note 1 to the Consolidated Financial Statements included in the Company’s Annual Report on Form 10-K for the fiscal year ended December 27, 2025, except for the matters described below. |
| Receivables | Receivables The Company maintains an uncommitted trade receivables sale program with a third-party financial institution, which was renewed in March 2026. Under the program, the Company may sell certain eligible trade accounts receivable on a non-recourse basis. The Company did not utilize the program during the first half of fiscal 2026. During the thirteen weeks ended September 26, 2026, the Company resumed use of the program and sold $40,000 of trade accounts receivable. Transfers of accounts receivable are accounted for as sales, and the sold receivables are removed from “Receivables, less allowance” in the Condensed Consolidated Balance Sheets. Cash proceeds from the sale of receivables are reflected within “Cash flows from operating activities” in the Condensed Consolidated Statements of Cash Flows. Discounts and other fees associated with the program are recorded within “Selling, general, and administrative expenses” in the Condensed Consolidated Statements of Earnings. |
