Leases [Abstract]
Lessor, Operating Leases [Text Block] Leases
Operating leases in which the Company was a lessor as of September 30, 2026 consisted primarily of hosting agreements with Aireon LLC (“Aireon”), through the Aireon Closing Date, and L3Harris Technologies, Inc. (“L3Harris”) for space on the Company’s satellites. These agreements provide for a fee that will be recognized over the estimated useful lives of the satellites, currently estimated to be approximately 17.5 years from their respective in-service dates. Lease income related to these agreements was $0.8 million and $3.1 million for each of the three months ended September 30, 2026 and 2025, respectively, and $7.0 million and $9.3 million for each of the nine months ended September 30, 2026 and 2025, respectively. The lease income decreased by $2.3 million in both the three and nine months ended September 30, 2026 due to the acquisition of Aireon. Lease income is recorded as hosted payload and other data service revenue within service revenue on the Company’s condensed consolidated statements of operations and comprehensive income.
L3Harris has prepaid all amounts owed to the Company pursuant to its hosting arrangement. The following table presents future income with respect to the Company’s operating lease with L3Harris in which it is the lessor existing at September 30, 2026, exclusive of the $2.3 million recognized during the nine months ended September 30, 2026, by year and in the aggregate, assuming that the lease continues:
