Item 4.01 Changes in Registrant’s Certifying Accountant.
New Independent Registered Public Accounting Firm
As previously disclosed on a Current Report on Form 8-K with the Securities and Exchange Commission that Benitec Biopharma Inc. (the “Company”) filed on September 24, 2026, the Company reported the approval of the engagement of Ernst & Young LLP (“EY”) as the Company’s independent registered public accounting firm for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2027. The engagement was subject to EY completing its client acceptance process. On September 28, 2026, EY completed its client acceptance procedures.
On September 29, 2026, the Company and EY executed an engagement letter to engage EY as the Company’s independent registered public accounting firm.
