Ratings are based on Moody’s Investors Service, Inc. (“Moody’s”), S&P Global Ratings (“S&P”) or Fitch Ratings (“Fitch”). If securities are rated differently by the ratings agencies, the highest rating is applied. Moody's ratings are converted to the S&P and Fitch scale with ratings ranging from AAA, being the highest, to D, being the lowest. Ratings of BBB or higher are considered to be investment-grade quality. Holdings designated as “Not Rated” (if any) are not rated by the national ratings agencies stated above.

Factors Affecting Performance [Text Block]

How did the Fund perform last year and what affected its performance?

Key contributors to (↑) and detractors from (↓) performance, relative to the Bloomberg Municipal Bond Index (the Index):

↑ An overweight exposure to BBB- and below-rated bonds contributed to Index-relative returns during the period

↑ An overweight allocation to and security selections in bonds with 4% coupon rates also helped performance

↑ An overweight exposure to bonds with 17-22 years remaining to maturity contributed to Index-relative returns

↓ In contrast, an allocation to variable-rate demand notes, typically considered defensive investments, weighed on performance

↓ An allocation to taxable municipal bonds detracted from Index-relative returns during the period

↓ An underweight exposure to the transportation sector hurt relative performance during the period

Factors Affecting Performance [Text Block]

How did the Fund perform last year and what affected its performance?

Key contributors to (↑) and detractors from (↓) performance, relative to the Bloomberg Municipal Bond Index (the Index):

↑ An overweight exposure to BBB- and below-rated bonds contributed to the Fund's performance during the period

↑ An overweight exposure to, and security selections in, bonds with 4% coupon rates also contributed to Index-relative returns

↑ An overweight exposure to bonds with 17-22 years remaining to maturity contributed to performance relative to the Index during the period

↓ In contrast, out-of-Index exposures to variable-rate demand notes, typically considered defensive investments, detracted from returns

↓ An out-of-Index allocation to taxable municipal bonds detracted from performance during the period

↓ An underweight exposure to, and security selections in, the water and sewer sector hurt Index-relative returns during the period

↑ An overweight allocation to, and security selections in healthcare/hospital bonds contributed to Index-relative returns during the period

↑ An overweight allocation to, and security selections in bonds with 4.00% coupon rates also contributed to performance

↑ An overweight exposure to, and security selections in bonds with 17 to 22 years to maturity also contributed to performance during the period

↓ In contrast, security selections in bonds with 8-12 years remaining to maturity detracted from the Fund's performance

↓ An allocation to variable-rate demand notes and floating-rate notes — typically considered defensive investments — also detracted from returns

↓ An underweight position in, and security selections in the leasing sector also hurt performance during the period

Factors Affecting Performance [Text Block]

How did the Fund perform last year and what affected its performance?

Key contributors to (↑) and detractors from (↓) performance, relative to the Bloomberg Municipal Bond Index (the Index):

↑ An overweight exposure to BBB- and below-rated bonds contributed to performance relative to the Index during the period

↑ An overweight exposure to, and security selections in, bonds with coupon rates of 4% contributed to performance relative to the Index

↑ An overweight exposure to, and security selections in, bonds with 17-22 years remaining to maturity contributed to returns during the period

↓ Out-of-Index exposures to variable-rate demand notes and floating-rate notes, typically considered defensive investments, detracted from returns

↓ An out-of-Index allocation to taxable municipal bonds also detracted during the period

↓ An underweight exposure to the transportation sector hurt returns during the period

Factors Affecting Performance [Text Block]

How did the Fund perform last year and what affected its performance?

Key contributors to (↑) and detractors from (↓) performance, relative to the Bloomberg Municipal Bond Index (the Index):

↑ An overweight exposure to bonds rated BBB and below contributed to returns during the period

↑ An overweight position and security selections in bonds with 4.00% coupon rates also contributed to performance

↑ An overweight position and security selections in bonds with 22+ years remaining to maturity also contributed to Index-relative returns during the period

↓ Security selections in bonds with 8 to 12 years remaining to maturity detracted from returns during the period

↓ An allocation to variable-rate demand notes and floating-rate notes — typically considered defensive investments — also detracted from returns

↓ An allocation to taxable municipal bonds, which generally underperformed tax-exempt municipal bonds during the period, also detracted
