For the period, global equity markets enjoyed a very strong performance as the conflict in the Middle East was scaled back which resulted in much lower oil prices. For the second quarter global equity markets enjoyed a very strong performance as the conflict in the Middle East was scaled back which resulted in much lower oil prices. Corporate earnings grew sharply helped by the resilience of the global economy. The equity market advance was broad by both geography and sector. Contributors included Nitto Boeski Co., Glanbia Plc, and Polar Capital Holdings Plc. Detractors included Westgold Resources Ltd, Genius Sports Limited, and Alamos Gold Inc.
