L. ENGINEERING AND DEVELOPMENT COSTS
Engineering and development costs include research and development expenses for new products, development and major improvements to existing products, and other costs for ongoing efforts to refine existing products. Research and development costs charged to operations totaled $2,856 and $2,699 in fiscal 2026 and 2025, respectively. Total engineering and development costs were $13,441 and $12,236 in fiscal 2026 and 2025, respectively, and are primarily recorded within marketing, engineering and administrative expenses on the consolidated statements of operations and comprehensive income. |
