7. Goodwill and Intangible Assets

 

As of June 30, 2026 and December 31, 2025, the Company had recorded goodwill of $13.5 million. No goodwill impairment was recognized for the six months ended June 30, 2026 and 2025.

 

Amortization of the intangible assets that have finite useful lives is generally recorded on a straight-line basis over their useful lives, ranging from 7 to 15 years, with remaining useful lives ranging from 5.3 to 11.9 years as of June 30, 2026. A summary of the Company’s identifiable intangible assets as of June 30, 2026 and December 31, 2025 is as follows (in thousands):

As of June 30, 2026, the weighted average remaining life for identifiable intangible assets was 6.8 years. Aggregate amortization expense was $2.1 million and $4.2 million for the three and six months ended June 30, 2026, respectively, and $1.0 million and $2.0 million for the three and six months ended June 30, 2025. Patent rights, acquired technology and acquired licenses are amortized over a 15-year period, other than Datavault acquired licenses, and EOS acquired patent rights, which are amortized over a 7-year period.
