| Segment Information | 11. Segment Information The Company has one operating and reportable segment which primarily focuses on the development and commercialization of novel therapeutics to treat serious unmet medical needs. The Company has determined that the is the chief operating decision maker (“CODM”). The CODM assesses performance of the business, monitors budget versus actual results and manages and allocates resources to the Company’s operations using consolidated net income (loss) as the primary measurement. The CODM is regularly provided with entity-wide expense categories that are consistent with those found on the Company’s condensed consolidated statements of operations. These significant segment expenses include cost of goods sold, research and development expenses, selling, general and administrative expenses, and restructuring charge. Other segment items that are presented on the condensed consolidated statements of operations include interest expense, gain on deconsolidation of subsidiary, interest income and other income (expense), net, and provision for (benefit from) income taxes. The measure of segment assets is reported on the balance sheet as total consolidated assets. |
