    <nuveen:OrganizationAndDescriptionOfBusinessTextBlock contextRef="c-1" id="f-47">Organization and Business Purpose&lt;div style="margin-top:6pt;text-align:justify;text-indent:36pt"&gt;&lt;span style="color:#000000;font-family:'Times New Roman',serif;font-size:10pt;font-weight:400;line-height:120%"&gt;Nuveen Farmland REIT (the &#x201c;Company&#x201d;) was formed on July 21, 2025 as a Maryland statutory trust. The Company intends to qualify as a real estate investment trust (&#x201c;REIT&#x201d;) for U.S. federal income tax purposes. The Company&#x2019;s sponsor is Nuveen, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company (the &#x201c;Sponsor&#x201d; or &#x201c;Nuveen&#x201d;), a wholly owned subsidiary of Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association of America (&#x201c;TIAA&#x201d;). The Company is the sole general partner of Nuveen Farmland REIT Operating Partnership, L.P., a Delaware limited partnership (&#x201c;Nuveen OP&#x201d; or the &#x201c;Operating Partnership&#x201d;). Nuveen OP has issued a special limited partner interest to Nuveen Farmland REIT Special Limited Partner L.P. (the &#x201c;Special Limited Partner&#x201d;), a wholly owned subsidiary of Nuveen. The Company was organized to invest primarily in agricultural real estate throughout the United States, namely leased farmland and related agricultural real estate that produces food or fiber, inputs for production agriculture, processing/storing crops or other agricultural-related assets. Substantially all of the Company&#x2019;s business is conducted through Nuveen OP.
