| Summary of Significant Accounting Policies | Summary of Significant Accounting Policies Basis of Presentation The accompanying consolidated financial statements are presented in accordance with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America (“GAAP”) and are stated in United States (“U.S.”) dollars. The preparation of consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP requires management to make estimates and assumptions that affect the reported amounts and disclosures in these consolidated financial statements. Actual results could differ from those estimates. The Company’s consolidated financial statements are prepared using the accounting and reporting guidance under ASC 946, Financial Services—Investment Companies (“ASC 946”). For a detailed discussion about K-PEC’s significant accounting policies, see Note 2 to the audited financial statements in the Company’s Annual Report on Form 10-K for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2025. During the six months ended June 30, 2026, there were no significant updates to K-PEC’s significant accounting policies. Basis of Consolidation As provided under Regulation S-X and ASC 946, the Company will generally not consolidate its investment in a company other than a wholly owned investment company or controlled operating company whose business consists of providing services to the Company. Accordingly, the Company consolidates in its consolidated financial statements the accounts of certain wholly owned subsidiaries that meet the criteria. All significant intercompany balances and transactions have been eliminated in consolidation. Adoption of New and Revised Accounting Standards Expense Disaggregation Disclosures In November 2024, the Financial Accounting Standards Board issued ASU 2024-03, Income Statement - Reporting Comprehensive Income - Expense Disaggregation Disclosures (“ASU 2024-03”). ASU 2024-03 requires a public business entity to provide disaggregated disclosures of certain categories of expenses on an annual and interim basis. The update will be effective for annual periods beginning after December 15, 2026 and interim periods beginning after December 15, 2027. The Company is currently evaluating the impact of adopting ASU 2024-03 on its consolidated financial statements and disclosures.
