| Description of Business | Description of Business In these notes to the unaudited condensed consolidated financial statements, the “Company,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Codexis, Inc. and its subsidiaries on a consolidated basis. We discover, develop, enhance, and commercialize novel, high performance enzymes and other classes of proteins leveraging our proprietary CodeEvolver directed evolution technology platform. We also offer an enzymatic alternative to solid-phase oligonucleotide synthesis using our ECO Synthesis manufacturing platform for fragment or full-length sequential synthesis of siRNA therapeutics. The Company's operations are managed and reported to the Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”), our chief operating decision maker (“CODM”), on a consolidated basis as one reportable segment.
