| Business Segment Information |
Business Segment Information The Company’s primary operations are reported in the following two business segments: movie theatres and hotels and resorts. The Marcus Corporation’s chief operating decision maker (CODM) is the Company’s Chief Executive Officer. The measure of segment profit and loss the CODM uses to evaluate performance is operating income of each segment. The CODM uses this measure to evaluate trends and assess segment operating performance as compared to budget, historical periods, the industries each segment operates in and their competition in order to determine how to allocate resources to each segment. The accounting policies of the reportable segments are the same as those described in the summary of significant accounting policies.
