| Recently Issued and Adopted Accounting Pronouncements and Regulatory Items | Recently Issued and Adopted Accounting Pronouncements and Regulatory Items New accounting guidance and regulatory items On November 4, 2024, the FASB issued ASU 2024-03, Income Statement - Reporting Comprehensive Income (Topic 220): Expense Disaggregation Disclosures, to require disaggregation of certain expense captions into specified categories in disclosures within the notes of the financial statements. The standard is effective for FMC beginning with the Form 10-K for the year ended December 31, 2027, and early adoption is permitted. The guidance is required to be applied prospectively and amendments in the ASU may be applied prospectively or retrospectively. We are currently evaluating the impact this standard will have on our disclosures.
