The Company is organized into two business segments: Innovative Medicine and MedTech.
The Company’s chief operating decision maker (CODM) is the Chief Executive Officer (Principal Executive Officer). For the Innovative Medicine and MedTech segments, the CODM uses segment income before tax to allocate resources (including employees, financial, and capital resources) for each segment predominantly in the annual forecasting process. The CODM considers planning-to-actual variances on a quarterly basis to assess performance and make decisions about allocating resources to the segments.

Adjustments to revenue recognized as a result of changes in estimates for the Company's most significant U.S. rebates and discounts liability balances for products shipped in previous years were approximately 3.0% and 2.6% of U.S. Innovative Medicine revenue during the fiscal second quarter of 2026 and 2025, respectively and approximately 3.8% and 3.5% of U.S. Innovative Medicine revenue during the fiscal six months of 2026 and 2025, respectively .
In October 2025, the Company announced its intention to separate its Orthopaedics business. The Company continues to explore multiple paths to effect the planned separation with a targeted completion within 18 to 24 months after the initial announcement.

(1) Innovative Medicine includes:
•Intangible amortization expense of $0.8 billion in both the fiscal second quarters of 2026 and 2025.
Intangible amortization expense of $1.5 billion and $1.4 billion in the fiscal six months of 2026 and 2025, respectively.
•Restructuring related charge of $0.2 billion in both the fiscal second quarter and fiscal six months of 2026. Refer to Note 12 for additional details.
