Factors Affecting Performance [Text Block]

What drove fund performance during the past 12 months?

  • The long-term U.S. Treasury bond market delivered positive total returns for the year ended May 31, 2026, despite periods of volatility driven by shifting expectations for Federal Reserve policy, inflation, and economic growth. Long-term yields declined through late 2025 as investors lowered growth expectations but later moved higher amid fiscal concerns and renewed inflation uncertainty.

  • Security selection aided the fund’s performance relative to its style-specific benchmark, the Bloomberg U.S. Long Treasury Bond Index. The fund’s selection of several individual Treasury holdings, particularly 3-5 year nominal Treasuries, more than offset modest detractors elsewhere.

  • The fund’s yield curve position moderately detracted from overall performance relative to the style-specific benchmark. This was driven primarily by positioning in the 10-year area of the Treasury curve, which more than offset positive contributions from the remainder of the curve.

  • The fund seeks to provide high income consistent with maximum credit protection. The fund remained nearly fully invested in U.S. Treasury securities throughout the year, with minimal exposure outside the benchmark.

Performance Past Does Not Indicate Future [Text] The fund’s past performance is not a good predictor of the fund’s future performance.
