| Environmental Remediation [Table Text Block] | The table below summarizes the amount of accrued and deferred costs associated with the company’s environmental remediation liabilities as of June 30, 2026 and December 31, 2025:
(1) As of June 30, 2026, $215 million is recorded in Other current liabilities and $337 million is recorded in Other non-current liabilities in the unaudited condensed consolidated statements of financial position. Estimated remediation costs are not discounted to present value. (2) The company defers the portion of environmental remediation costs we expect to be recoverable through overhead charges on U.S. government contracts. As of June 30, 2026, $200 million is deferred in Prepaid expenses and other current assets and $308 million is deferred in Other non-current assets in the unaudited condensed consolidated statements of financial position. These amounts are routinely evaluated for recoverability.
