EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Post-Effective Amendment No. 494 to the Registration Statement on Form N-1A for KraneShares Trust (the “Trust”) is being filed pursuant to paragraph (b)(1)(iii) of Rule 485 under the Securities Act of 1933 for the purpose of delaying, until July 13, 2026, the effectiveness of Post-Effective Amendment No. 483 (“PEA No. 483”) with respect to the KraneShares China AI and Technology ETF, which was filed with the Commission via EDGAR Accession No. 0001829126-26-003156 on April 3, 2026.

The Trust notes that the Board of Trustees of the Trust has approved changing the Fund’s name. Accordingly, effective immediately, all references to “KraneShares China AI and Technology ETF” in PEA No. 483 are hereby changed to “KraneShares Asia AI Technology ETF”.

Parts A, B and C of PEA No. 483 are incorporated herein by reference.
