| Risks and Uncertainties | Risks and Uncertainties The Plan invests in various investment securities. Investment securities are exposed to various risks such as interest rate, market and credit risks, including credit risk on fully benefit-responsive investment contracts. Credit risk exists for these contracts because there are no reserves by the insurance company against the contract value disclosed, other than the underlying assets of the synthetic investment contracts, which the Plan owns. Due to the level of risk associated with certain investment securities and the level of uncertainty related to changes in the value of investment securities, it is at least reasonably possible that changes in values of investment securities will occur in the near term and that such changes could materially affect participants’ account balances and the amounts reported in the statements of net assets available for benefits. Market risks include global events which could impact the value of investment securities, such as a pandemic or international conflict.
