| Income Taxes | Note 9. Income Taxes ASC 740, Income Taxes, defines the threshold for recognizing the benefits of tax return positions in the financial statements as “more-likely-than-not” to be sustained by the taxing authority. This section also provides guidance on the derecognition, measurement and classification of income tax uncertainties, along with any related interest and penalties, and includes guidance concerning accounting for income tax uncertainties in interim periods. As of March 31, 2026, the Company had no unrecognized tax benefits related to Federal or state income tax matters and does not anticipate any material increase or decrease in unrecognized tax benefits relative to any tax positions taken prior to March 31, 2026. The Company's effective tax rate for the three months ended March 31, 2026 was 23.20% compared to 24.01% for three months ended March 31, 2025. The difference between the effective tax rate and the federal and state income tax statutory rate of 26.14% at March 31, 2026 and 2025 is primarily due to investments in bank qualified municipal securities, participation in the Tennessee Community Investment Tax Credit program, and tax benefits associated with share-based compensation and bank-owned life insurance, offset in part by the limitation on deductibility of meals and entertainment expense and non-deductible executive compensation. As of and for the three months ended March 31, 2026, the Company has not accrued or recognized interest or penalties related to uncertain tax positions. The Company’s policy is to recognize interest and/or penalties related to income tax matters in income tax expense. The Company and the Bank file consolidated U.S. Federal and State of Tennessee income tax returns. The Company is currently open to audit under the statute of limitations by the State of Tennessee for the years ended December 31, and the IRS for the years ended December 31, 2023 through 2025. |
