| DESCRIPTION OF BUSINESS AND BASIS OF PRESENTATION | DESCRIPTION OF BUSINESS AND BASIS OF PRESENTATION Company Information Groupon, Inc. and its subsidiaries, which commenced operations in October 2008, is a global scaled two-sided marketplace that connects consumers to merchants by offering goods and services, generally at a discount. Consumers access those marketplaces through our mobile applications and our websites. Our operations are organized into two segments: North America and International.
