FAIR VALUE OF FINANCIAL INSTRUMENTS | 3. FAIR VALUE OF FINANCIAL INSTRUMENTS U.S. GAAP defines fair value as the price that would be received to sell an asset or be paid to transfer a liability in an orderly transaction between market participants at the measurement date (exit price) and establishes a fair-value hierarchy that prioritizes the inputs used to measure fair value using the following definitions (from highest to lowest priority):
Financial assets and liabilities subject to fair value measurements on a recurring basis and the level of inputs used in such measurements by major security type as of June 30, 2025 and December 31, 2024 are presented in the following table:
Money market funds are valued at cost, which approximates fair value. These amounts are included on the balance sheet in cash and cash equivalents at June 30, 2025 and December 31, 2024. |
