| Nature of Operations | 1. Nature of Operations The St. Joe Company together with its consolidated subsidiaries (“St. Joe” or the “Company”) is a diversified Florida real estate development, asset management and operating company with all of its real estate assets and operations in Northwest Florida. Approximately 87% of the Company’s real estate is located in Florida’s Bay, Gulf, and Walton counties. Approximately 90% of the Company’s real estate land holdings are located within fifteen miles of the Gulf of America, formerly named the Gulf of Mexico (the “Gulf”). The Company conducts primarily all of its business in the following three reportable segments: 1) residential, 2) hospitality and 3) commercial. See Note 16.
