Accounting Standards Update and Change in Accounting Principle [Abstract] | |
Recently issued and adopted accounting standards | RECENTLY ISSUED ACCOUNTING STANDARDS The Company has considered all new accounting pronouncements and has concluded there are no new pronouncements (other than the ones described below) that had or will have a material impact on the Company’s results of operations, comprehensive income, financial position, cash flows, stockholders’ equity or related disclosures based on current information. In November 2024, the Financial Accounting Standards Board (the “FASB”) issued Accounting Standards Update (“ASU”) 2024-03, “Income Statement—Reporting Comprehensive Income—Expense Disaggregation Disclosures (Subtopic 220-40): Disaggregation of Income Statement Expenses.” This ASU is effective for fiscal years beginning after December 15, 2026 (i.e., the Company’s annual financial statements for the year ended September 30, 2028) and for interim periods within fiscal years beginning after December 15, 2027 (i.e., the Company’s interim financial statements for the three months ended December 31, 2028), with early adoption permitted. This ASU can be adopted either (i) prospectively to financial statements issued for reporting periods after the effective date of this ASU or (ii) retrospectively to any or all prior periods presented in the financial statements. The Company is currently evaluating the impact of this standard. In December 2023, the FASB issued ASU 2023-09, “Income Taxes (Topic 740): Improvements to Income Tax Disclosures.” This ASU is effective for fiscal years beginning after December 15, 2024 (i.e., the Company’s annual financial statements for the year ended September 30, 2026), with early adoption permitted. This ASU should be adopted prospectively; however, retrospective adoption is permitted. The Company is currently evaluating the impact of this standard. In November 2023, the FASB issued ASU 2023-07, “Segment Reporting (Topic 280): Improvements to Reportable Segment Disclosures,” which expands annual and interim disclosure requirements for reportable segments, primarily through enhanced disclosures about significant segment expenses. This ASU is effective for fiscal years beginning after December 15, 2023 (i.e., the Company’s annual financial statements for the year ended September 30, 2025) and for interim periods within fiscal years beginning after December 15, 2024 (i.e., the Company’s interim financial statements for the three months ended December 31, 2025), with early adoption permitted. This ASU requires retrospective adoption. The Company is currently evaluating the impact of this standard.
