Accounts Receivable | 3. Accounts Receivable Accounts receivable as of September 30, 2023 and December 31, 2022 consisted of the following:
Accounts receivable, net as of the beginning of the prior year period, or January 1, 2022, were $75.0 million. Balances billed but not paid by customers under retainage provisions in contracts within the Condensed Consolidated Balance Sheets amounted to approximately $1.8 million and $1.6 million as of September 30, 2023 and December 31, 2022, respectively. Retainage receivables on contracts in progress are generally collected within a year or two subsequent to contract completion, and are recorded in either "Accounts receivable, net" or "Deferred charges and other assets" within the Condensed Consolidated Balance Sheets depending on timing of expected collection. Provision for credit losses was $0.2 million and $0.4 million for the three months ended September 30, 2023 and 2022, respectively, and $0.2 million and $0.8 million for the nine months ended September 30, 2023 and 2022, respectively. |
